Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Apply Here
The CFO is responsible for all financial matters of the organization, including financial planning and record keeping, as well as financial management, reporting and strategy. The CFO creates all financial management documentation and reports both to the President and Board of Directors. As an Officer on the Executive, the CFO is responsible for helping drive forward the overall mission, vision and goals of S-drive.
Key Accountabilities
- Management of corporate accounts including accurate record-keeping
- Prepares annual organizational financial statements and quarterly financial statements
- Quarterly variance analysis (budget vs. actual spend) for each drive
- Oversees the financial summary for each S-drive event
- Responsible for reimbursement to S-drive executive members for all event-related expenditures
- Provides approval of event budgets and administrative spending
- Leadership over strategies which improve financial accountability and organizational efficiency
- Short and long-term capital planning
Ideal Candidate
- An interest in promoting the S-drive mission and brand
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting and financial reporting
- Strong proficiency in excel and word
- Experience in managing budgets, financial documents, and financial statements
- Strong organizational skills
- Attendance at a minimum of six S-drive events throughout the year
- The ability to respond to executive emails and requests within a 48-hour period
- The ability to attend the quarterly S-drive team meetings/socials
- The ability to attend monthly Executive Committee meetings
- The commitment to the CFO role for at least one year
Chief Legal Officer/Corporate Secretary (CLO) - Apply Here
The CLO is responsible for all legal aspects off the organization, including documentation and record keeping, as well as legal consultation, risk management and strategy. The CLO reports to the President and sits on the Executive Committee. As an Officer, the CLO is responsible for helping drive forward the overall mission, vision and goals of S-drive.
Key Accountabilities
- To maintain S-drive’s by-laws (and draft changes as required)
- Provide guidance to the Executive in order to ensure compliance with legislation governed by Corporations Canada
- Ensure S-drive’s smooth transition in accordance with Bill C-21
- Provides legal opinion (with consultation from third parties when required) for concerns or operations at the request of the President
- Coordinates S-drive’s reporting to Corporations Canada
- Organization and management of key internal documents and record keeping
- Provides proactive legal risk management strategies for S-drive events
- Responsible for maintaining and making modifications as required to the S-drive Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Indemnity Agreement, etc.
- Responsible for working with the Queen’s Business Law Clinic to finalize S-drive’s new National Committee Structure
- Drafting documentation that’s required for S-drive’s presence in a second Canadian city
- Leadership in organizing the Annual General Meeting
- Creates summary minutes for monthly Executive Committee Meetings
Ideal Candidate

- LLB or articling student
- Superior time management and organizational skills
- The ability to excel in a team environment
- Attendance at a minimum of six S-drive events throughout the year
- The ability to attend the quarterly S-drive team meetings/socials
- The ability to respond to executive emails (which don’t require a legal opinion) within a 48-hour period
- The ability to attend monthly Executive Committee meetings

Project Manager – Volunteer Drive (V-drive) - Apply Here
The V-drive team is looking to hire three driven individuals who are passionate about improving the Toronto community. You will take the reigns as lead project manager for two different volunteer/community events that will engage S-drive members through philanthropy, volunteering and community engagement. You will also help support at least one other event from a different drive (Professional Development or Events) in order to provide your expertise to our other event offerings.
Project Manager #1: URBAN City Walking Tour Event + TBD

The P-drive team is looking to hire three driven individuals who are passionate about forming relationships which some of the top business minds and corporations in the city. You will take the reigns as lead project manager for 1-2 different speakers’ series and/or professional development events that will engage the S-drive community. You will also help support at least one other event from a different drive (Volunteering or Events) in order to provide your expertise to our other event offerings.

E-drive is looking for three energetic project managers in order to plan events that center around a good outing and social experience for S-drive members. We also count on E-drive to organize our leadership team socials and events. You will take the reigns as lead project manager for two different social, networking or wellness events that will engage the S-drive community. You will also help support at least one other event from a different drive (Professional Development or Volunteering) in order to provide your expertise to our other event offerings.

S-drive Brand Ambassador - Apply Here
S-drive is looking for 3-4 experienced S-drive Co-Chairs to drive forward the mission, vision and goals of S-drive in 2011-12. The S-drive brand ambassadors are charged with promoting key S-drive events, acting as mentors for existing and prospective members, and providing event planning expertise for S-drive’s large-scale events.
You will take the reigns as a committee member for 1-2 major S-drive events while also promoting all six events. S-drive’s marquee events are as follows:

S-drive Habitat for Humanity Build Event and Social (September)
S-drive Annual Panel Debate (November)
S-drive Annual NYE Event (December)
S-drive 1st Annual Conference (March)

S-drive Social Media and Blogging Strategist - Apply Here
S-drive is looking for one Social Media and Blogging Strategist to drive forward the online mission, vision and goals of S-drive through 2011-12. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this individual will be responsible for forming and leading the online social media strategies for S-drive. The strategies include (and are not limited to) Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, website copy, and the S-drive blog. Responsibilities also include: weekly entries and/or solicit entries from executive members and/or guest writers and forging relationships with other online partners to expand S-drive’s online presence. The Social Media and Blogging Strategist will also be charged with leading the internal communications strategy to encourage executive members to engage in various social media tools and online marketing tasks.
An ideal candidate would possess the following:

- A passion for blogging and digital marketing with experience in the field
- Experience with google analytics and search engine optimization
- An active user of Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin
- Strong written communication skills
